What's really behind your physical wellness and health? If this is part of your challenge on your journey to Reclaim Your Life, here's a 'root-cause challenge facing' approach for you.
To start with let's make sure we have one thing clear: whatever your current situation, right now and at every moment of every day you have the power to change anything you wish to change in your life, and your physical wellness and health is included.
Now, to make the best of the information here, an open mind would serve you well. On our 'Your Healthy Mind' page we quote that the gentlest thing in the world - an open mind - overcomes the hardest thing in the world, so remembering this in every situation in your life will open up a world of possibilities for you going hand in hand with your growing awareness.
Here's something visual that might inspire or make it easier for you to remember...
The first thing your open mind needs to be aware of if it isn't already, is that your physical wellness and health are directly connected to your mind, and the point of origin of every dis-ease in your body is somewhere in that realm referred to as your mind. This connection always exists, and being aware of it is important because it expands your possibilities of making things better for yourself.
Mind-body unity is a concept that is becoming more and more recognized today, even by traditional medicine. More and more MD's now, accept that every disease has a psychosomatic component in it, and that in fact the mind and body are inseparable.
This is very empowering in the context of what we're discussing here, because it actually gives you a lot of power, and here's how...
Acceptance is our gateway to power, and we've mentioned already that NOW, is where your power resides. So let's elaborate a bit more about this acceptance, and this is especially important if you currently are experiencing a health challenge.
Acceptance, as opposed to 'making something wrong', actually allows you to seek and understand reality from another perspective.
You see, the truth is, nothing ever really is 'wrong'. It always just is the way it is. When we argue with reality, and spend all our energy making it wrong, not only do we put off our responsibility for how we feel, but we are actually being drained of our power.
It's important that you KNOW that taking care of your physical wellness and physical health is first and foremost an 'inside job', and responsibility is a really fundamental thing to understand and apply.
Please don't assume you already know what responsibility actually means. True knowing comes through applying, and if there's even a shred of resentment or mixed emotions in you when you hear about responsibility click here to comprehend the power of responsibility and discover the freedom that knowing it brings.
It's important that you understand how crucial your perception is, and that you are ready to choose one of acceptance, that whatever happens is happening for a reason. So in this context, if you are unwell, there is clearly a reason for it, even if this reason is beyond your understanding.
What you CAN do, is understand that the more challenging your experience, the more incredible the lesson in it. When you seek to find the lesson, you access knowledge and wisdom that create complete transformation. And when you hear people say that their disease or accident is the best thing that ever happened to them, know that they are the ones who have been through this process.
“When you acknowledge that you have created everything up to now,
you can take charge of creating the future that you want” ~ Jack Canfield
So this is our starting point. Where do we go from here? We embark on a fascinating journey of discovery.
There are 3 kinds of approaches we'll mention here in regard to our physical wellness and health, and the first one uses our conscious mind.
Starting with true acceptance and then genuinely seeking to find your own answers, you can trust that your path will be revealed to you and the resources to guide you to the knowledge and wisdom that you seek will show up in the pace that is perfect for you. All you have to do is follow the way, and your open mind will certainly serve you well in seeing what you need to see.
This may sound a bit metaphysical, but you'll see that this really is how it works when you actually take your first steps. A great teacher to start with here is Louise Hay, and if you are not yet familiar with Louise Hay - in her book 'You can Heal Your Life' there's actually great information and insight into this world of body-mind connection. In fact there's a list connecting specific conditions and situations to our mind, so it's a great resource to refer to.
To summarize - with an open mind, your intuition will guide you to what you need, trust it. Do remember that it's the application that makes the difference.
Make this choice and your life will never be the same again, as long as you are determined to overcome all challenges. Determination and persistence will prove to be more than worth it. Do it in your own pace, without being judgmental towards yourself.
As long as you are aiming forward, and applying what you have learned - YOU ARE DOING GREAT!
Now, on your life journey, as your awareness grows you realize that part of the challenge are things that you're unconscious of, that could be holding you back, affecting your emotional and physical wellness and health. Since you're not consciously aware of them, it's likely you may not even know they're there, let alone recognize them.
This is where the second kind of approach in regard to our physical wellness and health challenges comes in to play. This approach reaches beyond our conscious mind. Beyond our awareness and sometimes beyond our understanding. It complements our first conscious approach to cover all realms of our mind.

The third and final approach we'll mention here in regard to our physical wellness and health refers to our body's natural ability to heal itself.
Our body is a magnificent creation and we have yet to learn a lot more about it, and chances are there always will be some mystery when it comes to our body (sometimes referred to as miracles...).
However, we know this much - our body knows best how to heal itself, given the right conditions. Better than any human being or any medication (and when you think about it - even the process of taking medication counts on the body's full cooperation). So... do you give your body the right conditions?
Let's look at the definition of physical wellness:
'An approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.'
Your best physical wellness and health is achieved, when your body is given the right conditions to do what it knows best, and that is to heal itself.
In our changing world, progress, with all its benefits, has also been damaging the environment and the conditions on our planet. These changes create a big challenge for the human body to maintain natural balance and keep its health and well being.
Your body, whether you are aware of it or not, is most likely not functioning at its best, even if you think of yourself as relatively healthy.
When we're unwell, the traditional approaches to 'sick-care' will sometimes interfere with this natural ability of our body, and we should be aware of it.
There are 4 fundamental factors playing a key role in our physical wellness:
